SEOUL, July 19 (Korea Bizwire) – For the campers and hikers in national parks during the summer vacation, the national park agency will hold various cultural events like music concerts, photo exhibitions, film screening, and mobile libraries.
The Korea National Park Service will begin music concerts starting on Hakdong Camping Site in Hallyeohaesang National Park on July 22. The concerts are comprised of classic music performance, with accompanying lectures on the music. The events will then move to Mt. Jiri on July 23, Mt. Chiak on July 25, Mt. Deogyu on August 1 and Taean Coastal National Park on August 2.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Samick Culture Foundation and NH Nonghyup, the concerts are expected to offer unique cultural experience in the natural environment by inviting kids from underprivileged families and multi-racial families as well as the campers.
Besides, the park service will run a mobile library in six camping sites within the national parks like Mt. Seorak and Mt. Gaya. Film screening will be offered in 12 sites including Mt. Gyeryong and Mt. Naejang.
An official at the park service said, “Through the high-quality cultural experience in the outdoor concert stages in our national parks, we hope the visitors could enjoy the nature and take home unforgettable memories of summer nights.”
Meanwhile, the national park service will offer educational programs to instill proper camping manners including not disturbing other campers and food banks to reduce food waste in 16 camping sites in the national parks.
