SEOUL, April 29 (Korea Bizwire) — National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-shik has held talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and other top officials to discuss ways to boost bilateral ties in critical minerals and supply chains, Woo’s office said Tuesday.
During his meeting with Khurelsukh on Monday, Woo also discussed partnerships in areas of transportation, infrastructure and people-to-people exchanges.
“With growing uncertainty in the global economy, including the recent reciprocal tariffs by the United States and rising protectionism, we hope the signing of the economic partnership agreement will help expand trade and investment and strengthen cooperation in various areas, such as supply chains,” he said.
Separately, Woo held talks with his counterpart, Dashzegve Amarbayasgalan, and stressed the importance of developing friendly ties between the two parliaments and called for deeper collaboration in climate and veterans affairs.
Woo’s visit marks the first official trip to Mongolia by a National Assembly Speaker since 2013.
