SEOUL, Korea, Dec 26 (Korea Bizwire) – As part of an effort to promote the value of Hangul (Korean written language system), Korea’s largest online portal Naver has helped small business owners install Hangul sign posts, the company said on December 24.

The company had begun the campaign in October to take applications and selected 20 winners based on reasons for needing new signs for their business. The 20 business owners said they need to replace old signs, have done business without a sign, or want to keep Hangul signs.

Yoo Seung-jae, head of Naver’s marketing center, said, “The latest Hangul sign support program was a great occasion for us all as it reminded us of the importance of Hangul all the while helping struggling small business owners during the holiday season.” At Naver’s campaign page (http://hangeul.naver.com/sign), visitors can check out photos of the businesses before and after the new sign post.
