SEOUL, Aug. 8 (Korea Bizwire) – Naver Inc., Korea’s largest online search engine company, said on August 7 that it would begin providing classic car information on its Naver Auto site. Currently the company offers automobile information on its Naver Auto page (http://auto.naver.com/index.nhn), including 1,523 models from 42 manufacturers.
The newly added databases include the information on the world’s first car model the “Benz Patent-Motorwagen No. 1” in the 1880s and Korea’s first car the “1955 Sibal” by Kukje Auto Works. As the information on the cars is arranged by year, it is easy to search and browse the history of the automobile at a glance. In addition, the user can search the database by manufacturer or launch year.
Naver Auto is not just a repository of information related to cars. It plays the role of a learning tool by which users can gain in-depth knowledge on the history of the important means of transportation.
Park Sun-young, head of Naver’s content library, said, “We at Naver will try to offer all the available information on cars, including classic cars and ones currently being sold.”
