SEOUL, May 18 (Korea Bizwire) — A number of new artificial intelligence (AI) services that enable readers to better enjoy webtoons are being released.
Naver Webtoon, South Korea’s leading webtoon platform, recently launched a beta service called Toon Filter on its app. It transforms uploaded photos into artworks created by popular web comic artists.
The service offers filters inspired by 10 popular web-based comic series. It provides the fun of transforming personal pictures into artworks created in the style of popular artists.
Webtoon Me, an AI service unveiled last February for Webtoon readers, adds an augmented reality (AR) feature on top of AI services like Toon Filter, which turns actual photos into drawings.
When facing the camera, the user’s depiction is seen in front of a webtoon background and is transformed into a webtoon drawing in real-time.
