NCsoft’s ‘Throne and Liberty’ Makes Global Debut, Climbing Steam Charts

SEOUL, Oct. 3 (Korea Bizwire) – NCsoft, the South Korean game developer, has launched its highly anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “Throne and Liberty” (TL) in collaboration with Amazon Games.

The game was released on October 2 across North and South America, Europe, Oceania, and Japan, marking a significant step in NCsoft’s global expansion. 

The global version of “Throne and Liberty” is available on multiple platforms, including Steam for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.

The game offers support for several languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Japanese, catering to a diverse international audience.

According to SteamDB, a statistics website tracking Steam usage, “Throne and Liberty” made an impressive debut.

On its first day of release, the game peaked at 326,000 concurrent players on Steam, securing the sixth position in the platform’s most-played games.

It trailed behind popular titles such as “Counter-Strike 2,” “Dota 2,” “PUBG: Battlegrounds,” and “Black Myth: Wukong.”

Christoph Hartmann, vice president at Amazon Games, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, stating, “Working closely with NCsoft and incorporating various feedback, we’ve created a game with immense potential to captivate players worldwide.”

Choi Moon-young, the NCsoft executive who headed the development of “Throne and Liberty,” emphasized the game’s broad appeal. “TL is an MMORPG for everyone, and we are confident it will bring joy to our global fans,” Choi said.
