Netflix Teases Final Season of ‘Squid Game’ at Tudum 2025 Event in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, June 1 (Korea Bizwire) – Netflix set the stage for the highly anticipated return of Squid Game at its annual global fan event, Tudum 2025, unveiling the official trailer for Season 3, which will premiere on June 27. The third season is expected to conclude the globally acclaimed Korean thriller that has captivated audiences since its 2021 debut.

Korean actor Lee Byung-hun, who plays the enigmatic Front Man, addressed the crowd with a chilling invitation: “Are you ready for the final game?” The trailer revealed new, ominous challenges, including a massive jump rope game led by the infamous robotic doll Young-hee and a claustrophobic maze of narrow alleyways—indicating fresh horrors unlike anything seen in Seasons 1 or 2.

The story continues to center around Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), whose moral struggle with the Front Man deepens. In one intense scene, Gi-hun—visibly tormented by the loss of a friend—cries out, “Why did you only let me live?” The Front Man coldly replies, “Number 456, do you still believe in people?”

The trailer ends with Gi-hun, dressed in a black suit and marked with his player number, walking with a solemn determination, suggesting he may once again emerge as a finalist in the deadly competition.

The event also featured appearances by key cast members, including Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ae-sim, and Choi Seung-hyun, whose character “Thanos” met his demise in Season 2. “You might be surprised to see me again,” Choi said, “but I couldn’t miss a moment like this.”

Lee Jung-jae hinted at the introduction of a new doll named Chul-soo, saying it’s unlikely to be “any more merciful” than Young-hee. He also confirmed that Season 3 will mark the end of the series, noting, “Every game must have an end.”

Netflix also released a second set of stills, showing glimpses of potential twists. One image showed the character Kyung-seok (Lee Jin-wook), presumed dead in Season 2, facing off with a masked guard. Another depicted the Front Man revisiting his past as player No. 132, confronting the game’s organizers.

Tudum, launched in 2020, has become Netflix’s flagship global fan event, where viewers get exclusive previews and cast appearances from the streaming giant’s most popular original productions. With Squid Game entering its final round, expectations for the series’ conclusion are at an all-time high.
