Seoul, July 21 (Korea Bizwire)The Korea Customs Service announced that they have reorganized their systems so that Unique Entry Codes needed for import declarations can be issued through mobile phones with user authentication via text.

Unique Entry Codes are identifying codes issued by the customs office that an individual can use instead of their social security number when declaring exports and imports.

The codes are required for reporting the entry of products with a value over US$200, and general entry products like food, health supplements, medicine and medical supplies, etc.

Until now, an accredited certificate was needed for the issuance of a unique entry code. In addition, only certain internet browsers were capable of issuing the codes on a PC, but after the reorganization, any kind of browser can be used.

Customers can generate a Unique Entry Code by visiting the Korean Customs Service web site (p.customs.go.kr), and entering a verification code.
