The World Automobile Jeju Museum, located in Seogwipo, Jeju Island, reported Monday that it has opened the country’s first “Piano Museum,” which has collected and displayed valuable pianos from around the world.

In the museum, a total of 33 pianos are on display, ranging from harpsichords, which are known as the ancestor of keyboard instruments, to the early 1900s Grand Piano.

Of the displayed pianos, “Antique Blasius & Sons Custom Carved Grand Piano” is the one and only piano piece in the world that Rodin carved, and dates back to 1888.

In particular, the grand piano is considered to be a piece with high artistic and historical value, as it is decorated with 100 angels carved to express “Heaven” among Dante’s Divine Comedy.
