SEOUL, Sept. 19 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korea’s national short track speed skating team has unveiled new uniforms consisting of black, white, red, and blue to represent the colors of the country’s flag, topped off with a red helmet with the fierce face of a tiger.
Despite controversy and lawsuits between sportswear companies over the supply of national team uniforms, Hunter, the Dutch sportswear brand that developed the new uniform, was selected based on tests with skaters organized by the Korea Skating Union.
Many of the skaters who tried on the new uniform praised its lightness and its tight fit.
“I normally prefer tight-fitting uniforms that hug my body, and it’s one of those,” Seo I-ra said.
Fellow skater Lim Hyo-jun, also praised the new uniform over its tight fit.
“At first, I thought it was too tight that it numbed my movement, but training in the uniform longer made me change my mind and it perfectly hugs my body.”
