SEOUL, Dec. 23 (Korea Bizwire) — Nongshim Co., South Korea’s leading instant noodle maker, said Tuesday it has opened its fourth overseas “experience space” for “ramyeon” products at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

The U.S. outlet follows earlier openings of Shin Ramyun Bunsik in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in August; Harajuku, Japan, in June; and Machu Picchu, Peru, in April, the company said in a press release.

Located on the fourth floor of the airport’s Terminal 1, the K-style noodle bar is designed to give international travelers an opportunity to experience Nongshim’s ramyeon and snack products, including its signature Shin Ramyun, the release said.

In the January–September period, Nongshim’s sales rose 1.9 percent to 2.63 trillion won (US$1.77 billion) from 2.58 trillion won a year earlier.

Nongshim earns nearly half of its total ramyeon sales from overseas markets.

It operates six domestic plants and six overseas production facilities — two in the United States and four in China — and sells its instant noodle products globally, including its flagship Shin Ramyun, as well as Chapagetti and Neoguri.
