SEOUL, Sep. 13 (Korea Bizwire) – A movie poster starring Sulli, a member of famous K-pop girl group f(x), has been released. Sulli or Choi Jin-ri in her real name will play Gwak Eun-jin, one of the main roles in this popular webtoon-based film “Paeshyeonwang” (Fashion King).

Gwak is a bookworm or a grinder who always hits the book at the expense of her pretty appearance; She is kind of a nerd, unfashionably dressed with ill fitting eye-glasses. So, the ad copy illustrating her character is ‘Sulli, who gives up her radiant beauty to focus on raising her grade points.’

Based on the webcomic content “Paeshyeonwang,” written and illustrated by Kian84,  published via comic.naver.com from 2011 to 2013, this movie is a romantic comedy, a coming-of-age story to be played out in a love triangle relationship among the main characters.

The simple plot goes like this: High school student Woo Ki-Myung (Joo Won) decides to become the most fabulous guy in the world. He does this to match up with a pretty girl who happens to be a classmate in his high school. Meanwhile, Kwak Eun-Jin (Sulli) has a crush on Woo Ki-Myung. Now Gwak tries to  change her appearance to catch his attention.

Recently, Sulli admitted her relationship with Choiza, a member of hip-hop pair Dynamic Duo, month after they flatly denied dating rumors. According to local reports, Sulli  wanted to become an actress and Choiza always threw his full support behind Sulli’s dream.

Now, Sulli’s first play in a movie has come under higher scrutiny as her ‘love scandal’ has drawn as much attention as ever from the public. In this regard, how the local movie critics will evaluate her playing will be the center of attention among her fans and might play, a significant role in Sulli’s “real” love relationship. The movie “Fashion King” is scheduled to be screened at local cinemas on November.
