WANDO, Aug. 28 (Korea Bizwire)A new “ocean climate healing” program in Wando-gun, South Jeolla Province is getting rave reviews.

According to Wando-gun, the local government has been operating the “ocean climate healing” program on a trial run as part of its ocean health care service at Myeongsasimni Beach in Sinji-myeon.

The healing program makes good use of the beach’s fresh winds, natural aerosol and sunlight that helps produce Vitamin D in the body to strengthen immunity levels and relax the body and mind.

The program involves five elements: Nordic walking on the beach, yoga on the shore, paddle boating, Pilates, and aquatic exercise.

A total of 197 participants have joined the program with guidance from a professional expert.

Han Seong-gi, who came from Gwangju with his family to take part in the program, said he would remember the experience “for a long time” because he was able “to exercise facing the ocean, under the sky.”

“We will find a way to operate the program, not only in the summer but all year round,” said Shin Wu-cheol, the county governor of Wando-gun.

The natural environment of Wando is home to many natural marine resources, found to have 50 times more anionic oxygen, known as the “vitamin in air,” than large cities.
