Samsung and LG to Square off for a Showdown at Display Exhibition

SEOUL, Oct. 16 (Korea Bizwire)Samsung Display and LG Display challenge each other at the 14th International Meeting on Information Display from October 14 to 16. Samsung’s keywords are “curved” and “flexible” while LG focuses on “Organic Light Emitting Diodes” and “touch” at the exhibition.

In order to boast its technological prowess for curved and flexible displays, Samsung Display showcases its 55-, 65- and 78-inch curved ultra HD televisions, and 27- and 34-inch curved monitors. The displays with a curvature of 4000R are known to make viewers immerse in videos.

In addition, the Samsung Group company will unveil flexible displays including Gear Fit and Gear S. Its curved Super Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diodes display realizes flexible cutting edge gadgets.

The company also displays a 5.6-inch curved edge display with Quad HD OLED resolution equipped in Galaxy Note Edge.

In contrast, LG Display exhibits its technology for OLED products and touch screens at the event. An affiliate of LG Group discloses its 77-, 65- and 55-inch curved OLED televisions with ultra HD resolution, and 1.3-inch round plastic OLED displays optimized for wearable devices.

The company also displays its smartphones and tablets with the leading touch screen technology called “Advanced In-cell Touch.” The new touch screen method is differentiated from the existing on-cell technology since it is much thinner and has improved resolution and size.

The Seoul-based display manufacturer, moreover, showcases displays for next-generation vehicles with full HD resolution, monitors developed by the Narrow Bezel technology and a 98-inch electronic blackboard.

Aside from Samsung and LG, more than 100 display manufacturers participate in the largest display exhibition in South Korea. More than 60,000 people related to the industry are expected to visit.
