SEOUL, March.1 (Korea Bizwire) – As more and more Koreans are choosing to repair their cars themselves, data indicates that many are buying engine oil, light bulbs and other car parts online.
The online shopping portal Auction (www.auction.co.kr) analyzed sales from its site specializing in German auto parts (gparts.auction.co.kr) over the past seven months, and car lights topped the list, followed by engine oil, electric parts, batteries, and filters.
Auction is running a promotional campaign offering discounts at its German auto parts site until April 13.
A total of 1,500 customers who registered their vehicle identification number will be offered German fuel additives as a gift, and for those who purchased engine oil and filters, a service that identifies products suitable for their vehicle and puts them in their shopping cart will be provided.
Also, customers who registered their vehicle identification number qualify for a free checkup on their vehicle worth 30,000 to 50,000 won at their local garage.
Auction officials comment that auto parts sales have more than doubled compared to sales a year ago. “We hope to provide higher quality services by improving the search environment,” they said.
