SEOUL, August 5 (Korea Bizwire) - Soccer enthusiasts are excited about a new online service that manages scores and stats of amateur soccer players likepopular PC soccer games ‘Winning 11′ and ‘Football Manager’.

The online service that is creating all the buzz is called ‘BePro 11′. It was launched by a company also named BePro, which was founded mainly by students from Seoul National University. They named the company and the service ‘BePro’ so that every amateur player could feel like a professional player.

With the new program, users can input and manage game data in real time. In addition, team rankings, player rankings and league records are organized. But most of all, amateur players can have their records managed like a professional player. The program has a separate page for each individual player where he/she can organize his or her records.

BePro launched an early stage service last November and upgraded to the current version in March. It is still a Beta version that will officially open at the end of this month, but the number of users has already exceeded 8,000.

Kang Hyun-wook(24), the head of BePro, used to be a student preparing for law school. He started the business with friends who shared the idea that the program could change people’s lives.

Kang explains his intentions behind making the BePro 11. “When I was on the university soccer club, I thought it would be nice if there was a program that managed my records. I started to develop the service, and what we used in the school league came this far.”

He says that it is his dream to open an ‘amateur world cup’ using the program. As a start, the BePro University Champion’s League will take place next month, with 16 universities participating.

As a soccer enthusiast himself, Kang, who wished for a competition like this, established one himself. The games will air live on Afreeca TV.
