SEOUL, Feb. 14 (Korea Bizwire) — ‘Chapaguri,’ a signature noodle dish introduced in Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” is now on the menu at company cafeterias.
CJ Freshway Corp., a food service affiliate of CJ Group, decided to celebrate the film’s achievement by introducing Chapaguri at all of the restaurants it operates for companies and affiliate institutions.
The company made 600 dishes of Chapaguri on Thursday at a company restaurant located inside CJ Cheiljedang Center in Seoul.
Chapaguri is a mixture of Chapagetti, instant black bean noodles, and Neoguri, spicy Korean udon-like noodles.
Popular among Koreans from all walks of life, it was depicted in the film as a symbol of inequality when served with chunks of sirloin steak for a wealthy family.
The dish is gaining worldwide popularity after Parasite’s Oscar windfall, with recipes being shared overseas.
