SEOUL, Sept. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — Packaging tape used for parcel delivery services have been printed with the stories of individuals who overcame addiction to gambling.
The state-run Korea Center on Gambling Problems said Wednesday it had distributed 5,000 units of packaging tape printed with stories of gambling addiction recovery to 15 post offices across the country.
The tape are printed with sentences such as “This is what I learned during study in Britain. I couldn’t quit it for 17 years” and “I didn’t repay my son’s (gambling) debt worth 800 million won (US$684,580),” as well as QR codes.
Scanning the QR codes with a smartphones links to videos containing the story of those who overcame gambling addiction. Appearing in the videos are those who overcame their gambling problems and their family members.
They decided to appear in the videos as part of efforts to bring hope to other gambling addicts and their families.
“The sharing of the success stories of those who overcame gambling addiction could help other gambling addicts to undergo proper treatment at the center,” said Gong Bong-suk, the acting head of the Korea Center on Gambling Problems.
