SEOUL, May 20 (Korea Bizwire)Frequent complaints and disputes over honeymoon trips brought a new business model in the industry. A local travel agency introduced a honeymoon package which can be paid after the newlywed couples enjoy their honeymoons.

The “pay-later” honeymoon package enables the couples to pay 50 percent of the travel costs before they go to honeymoon in installments and the rest after the trips in six months later or all at once in a week with a 5-percent discount.

As there are so many complaints and disputes related to honeymoon trips such as breach of contracts, nonfulfillment of contracts, compulsory shopping or other options, accidents during the trips, and shutting down of businesses after full payments, consumers’ disbelief is rising over the tourism industry.

In that situation, travel agency Golden Tour Network introduced the “pay-later” travel package to ease their anxiety over the honeymoon trips and made it a business model. The agency explained that it launched the package after examining that most newlyweds borrow money for their honeymoon to pay before they tie the knots and pay back with gift money they receive in their weddings.

The idea integrating the pay-later package with a safe travel service guarantee policy receives positive responses. Through the policy, the travel agency upgraded the honeymoon package by guaranteeing the fulfillment of the travel contracts between the company and the couples.

If their honeymoon tours are not implemented according to the contracts, the consumers can be compensated according to the contract terms. The company has applied for a patent for the honeymoon package and plans to examine how the trips are implemented by the contract no later than a week after the honeymoon trips.
