SEOUL, Sep. 16 (Korea Bizwire) – Finally, Samsung Electronics unveiled its Tizen-based Smart TV at SOSCON, an open-source conference held on September 16 at the Grand InterContinental in Seoul. The much awaited Samsung Tizen OS Smart TV — though a prototype for now — has been applied to Samsung’s full-HD 65-inch TV model which was manufactured in March this year.
This Tizen-based Samsung Smart TV highlights its “emptiness” in terms of User Interface: The existing Smart Hub platform can be used when the whole on-air screen image is “blinded.” This Tizen model , however, enables using all the menu while the on-air image taking “only” half of the whole screen when in use. Samsung also said it will unveil API for this Tizen Smart TV next year.
