Pixar’s Immersive Exhibition Debuts in Asia with Grand Opening in Seoul

Pixar’s Immersive Exhibition1SEOUL, May 7 (Korea Bizwire) —   A sprawling immersive exhibition that brings the worlds of Pixar animation to life has opened in Seoul, marking its first stop in Asia after captivating audiences across Europe and Latin America.

Pixar’s Immersive Exhibition2Titled Mundo Pixar: Into the World of Imagination, the exhibition transforms 3,300 square meters of Seongsu Cultural Arts Center into 12 elaborate spaces inspired by beloved Pixar films such as Toy Story, Elemental, Inside Out, Coco, Finding Nemo, and Ratatouille. The name “Mundo,” Spanish for “world,” reflects the exhibition’s mission to transport visitors into the heart of Pixar’s animated universes.

Originally staged in Mexico City, Madrid, and Brussels, Mundo Pixar has already drawn more than 2.6 million visitors globally. In Seoul, the exhibition officially opened on May 5 and runs through June 29, 2025.

Aimed at fans of all ages, the exhibition features interactive installations, ambient soundscapes, and visual elements that replicate the perspective of characters such as Woody, Joy, and Remy.

In Toy Story’s Andy’s room, for instance, oversized props tower above visitors, creating a toy’s-eye view of the world. Meanwhile, the Coco-themed space uses a floor projection of marigold petals to recreate the Land of the Dead in vivid, immersive detail.

Pixar’s Immersive Exhibition3Speaking at a media preview on Wednesday, Fernando Moya, CEO of Golden Peak Live Entertainment and lead producer of the exhibition, said, “Mundo Pixar allows audiences to walk through, engage with, and emotionally connect to the worlds they’ve seen on screen. It’s not just a visual experience—it’s a journey.”

Moya noted that Korea was chosen as the first Asian host due to its strong moviegoing culture and a devoted fanbase of Pixar films. The exhibition is expected to attract between 350,000 and 400,000 visitors during its Seoul run, with a significant number of families and viewers in their 20s to 40s attending over the recent holiday weekend.

Pixar’s Immersive Exhibition4“We hope visitors leave with the feeling that they’ve truly spent time with the characters they love,” said Moya. “It’s about creating joyful, lasting memories.”

The exhibition runs through June 29, 2025.
