SEOUL, March 9 (Korea Bizwire)Police launched an investigation Wednesday into an alleged case of bullying that happened at the Central Police Academy in Chungju, 105 kilometers south of Seoul.

The National Police Agency said that it will conduct an overall investigation to verify if the case was caused by structural problems, without giving detailed information on its investigation plan.

This case surfaced last week after a victim of the bullying posted about the case in an online community used by the school’s cadets.

Based on the testimonies of witnesses, the school found that some cadets harassed and sprayed artificial tears on the neck of the victim.

After the case went viral online, some people who identified themselves as police officers uploaded a string of posts claiming that they also suffered from bullying when they underwent training at the Central Police Academy.

Since this case happened in the past, the investigation can target police officers in service.

However, since it happened before they were appointed as police officers, it’s impossible to punish them through the police’s internal inspection.
