Pollack Tagged With Microchips Before Release in East Sea

GANGNEUNG, Dec. 31 (Korea Bizwire)Gangwon Province’s Donghae Regional Office released 1,000 young and female pollack raised at a farm in Goseong County Wednesday to restore the pollack population.

They include 300 female pollack and 700 young pollack raised by the Cold Water Resources Center.

Female pollack have been tagged with electronic chips to monitor the release, eight of which were given additional recorders to measure the depth and temperature of the ocean, as well as their displacements before being caught again.
