SEOUL, July 19 (Korea Bizwire) — Hyundai Motor Group’s Pony Coupe, the first concept car in South Korea, will be revived in the new map ‘Taiko’ from the mega-hit computer game “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.”
The company recently announced that it will unveil a Pony Coupe video through a partnership with Krafton Inc., a South Korean gaming giant behind the global smash hit.
The Pony Coupe wowed the audience at the 1974 Torino Motor Show, and was a concept car that led to the creation of Hyundai Motor’s first independent model, the Pony.
Designed by Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro, it still has lots of fans although it was not mass produced.
The Pony Coupe also gave inspiration to Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 all-electric vehicle which launched in April.
The Pony Coupe video that Hyundai unveiled realized not only the external look of the Pony Coupe vehicle, but also its interior design and engine sound, including a scene where the Pony Coupe runs in the background of a small city in South Korea in the 1980s.
