JEJU, March 24 (Korea Bizwire)The population of roe deer on Jeju Island is set for recovery following recent bans on poaching.

The Jeju provincial government reported that there were about 4,400 roe deer on the island as of last year, which was a 15.8 percent increase over the previous year.

Roe deer had been designated as hazardous wild animals in June 2013 after they were suspected of eating farm crops, and were allowed to be killed.
