SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Korea Bizwire) – POSCO Engineering and Construction opened lot no. 5 of the Ho Chi Minh City – Dau Giay Expressway (Long Tan – Dau Giay route) on February 8 at Dau Giay, in the southern Ho Chi Minh City area. The expressway is considered to be the beginning point of the South-North expressway in Vietnam, which links both ends of the country. With the opening of the lot, a total of 54.9km of new expressway have now been opened. The expressway links the financial capital of Vietnam to Long Tan, where a second international airport is planned, and to the Dau Giay area.
Along the with lot no. 5, POSCO E&C finished lot no. 3, linking Ho Chi Minh City to Long Tan a year ago. However, lot no. 5, which was given up by another contractor, was awarded to POSCO E&C in a bid to speed up construction. POSCO E&C finally finished the 23.7 km lot in just 14 months, reducing the construction time by 10 months.
