POSCO to Offer Hiring Benefits to Members of Marine Corps

POHANG, March 20 (Korea Bizwire) South Korean steelmaker POSCO is offering special hiring benefits to service members from the Marine Corps who joined the relief efforts when super Typhoon Hinnamnor hit the country.

The company decided to exempt service members recommended by the commander of the 1st Marine Division, stationed the southeastern city of Pohang, in from application reviews and personality aptitude tests.

The recommended service members will be eligible to jump straight into the first and second rounds of interviews.

Those applying for jobs in management and engineering, however, should pass certain requirements including a TOEIC English language speaking test.

Those applying for the manufacturing and technician jobs should hold a related undergraduate degree or certification.

The 1st Marine Division joined the relief efforts after super Typhoon Hinnamnor hit Pohang, including the POSCO steel plant, in September last year.
