SEOUL, Oct. 4 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korea’s major department stores are showcasing a variety of ‘post-Chuseok’ marketing strategies, targeting shopping demand after the Chuseok holiday.
Lotte Department Store announced on Tuesday that it will host the ‘Family Bookcance Event’ at the rooftop park of the culture center at its Cheongnyangni outlet on October 7.
Hammocks, mats and camping chairs will be set up at the rooftop park, along with about 200 books for visitors to read while they relax.
The department store will also organize a play area for basketball and darts, as well as various experiential events such as calligraphy and bookmark making.
On October 7, Lotte Department Store will host a ‘Style Run’ marathon event starting from the grass square of Lotte World Tower in Jamsil and going around Olympic Park.
On the first underground floor of its main outlet, a sustainable fashion pop-up exhibition will be held until October 5, aiming to promote the values of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) in the apparel-making process. This exhibition will feature participation from 10 K-fashion brands.
Until October 15, the department store will offer discounts of up to 50 percent for 540 fashion brands.
Shinsegae Department Store is scheduled to host the ‘Blossom Art Fair’ from October 5 to November 5 at its main outlet, where visitors can encounter artworks from renowned artists from both Korea and abroad.
This event will display about 200 artworks, including pieces by renowned artists such as Lee Ufan, Park Seo-bo, and David Hockney, as well as works by emerging artists such as Kang Junyoung, Lim Ji-min and Momo Kim.
Hyundai Department Store will host the ‘Beautiful Gift Exhibition,’ a free exhibition showcasing around 100 artworks from masters of modern art, including Lee Ufan, Park Seok-won, and Park Seo-bo, at ALT.1, a multi-cultural space on the sixth floor of The Hyundai Seoul. The exhibition is scheduled to run until October 15.
