The price hike is largely attributed to the rising price of primary ingredients.

The KPI showed that the price of wheat and cooking oil jumped by 46.9 percent and 33.2 percent, respectively, since 2018.

The prices of the ingredients jumped mostly due to inflation, the pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

Onions and cucumbers are also significantly more expensive than before, with prices soaring 166.7 percent and 275 percent since 2018.
