TAEAN, May 4 (Korea Bizwire) — The production of salt, onto which pine pollen settles after being blown by the wind at a salt field in Taean County, South Chungcheong Province, has begun in full swing.
This salt is highly rare since it can only be produced for about ten days during this time of the year when pine pollen is in the air.
This year, the unique salt will be produced during the first couple of weeks of May.
Pine pollen adds a unique flavor to sun-dried salt. It is rich in protein, carbohydrates, and minerals, and contains many essential vitamins.
