SEOUL, March 16 (Korea Bizwire)A new trend in K-pop is rising, as more and more Korean musicians are choosing to hold street showcases for their soon-to-be released songs.

Min-ah from Girl’s Day unveiled her first solo album by performing at the center of Myeongdong on March 16, while JJCC, a boy group made by Jackie Chan, will hold guerilla concerts on Hongdae streets every Saturday until the end of this month, in celebration of the group’s one year debut anniversary. JJCC will be also performing a new song during the concerts.

New girl group CLC from Cube Entertainment will also hold their first debut showcase on the street, while Eric Nam held two small concerts in Hongdae and Daehangno to promote his newly released song.

Min-Ah’s music label Dream T Entertainment said that the street promotion was chosen to show the public that the singer, the new it-girl among K-pop fans, is still the same girl who worked hard, performing on the streets, to prepare for live-TV performances of Girl’s Day. JJCC said that they have decided to hold street concerts in order to meet and communicate with fans more closely.

A Cube Entertainment official said that a new trend has arrived amidst Korean musicians’ attempts to increase their exposure by finding ways to deliver their performances besides the common online possibilities.
