SEOUL, June 8 (Korea Bizwire)A popular summer concert series featuring K-pop superstar Psy will make a comeback this year after two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The concert, however, is facing criticism for wasting hundreds of tons of water amid a drought in the country.

The 44-year-old singer-rapper announced on Saturday through his official Instagram account that his summer concert series “Summer Swag” will be taking place again this year.

His summer concert series, which began in 2011, is famous for drenching spectators with water. Since concertgoers get sprayed with water from everywhere, some wear raincoats.

Psy recently appeared on a TV program in which he said, “We buy drinking water for the concert. The concert uses about 300 tons of drinking water per show.”

However, with the country suffering from a severe drought this year, netizens are suggesting that he should come up with a different idea this year to reduce the use of water.

“Psy’s concert would be interesting enough even without spraying tons of water,” one netizen said.
