SEOUL, Dec. 8 (Korea Bizwire) — The first batch of 50,000 pairs of Pyeongchang Olympics-inspired trainers sold out only a week after pre-orders began.
The special trainers dubbed ‘PyeongChang Sneakers’ have proved a great success on the back of public support for the much anticipated the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, following in the footsteps of the ‘PyeongChang Long Padding’, the official goose down jacket that caused a frenzy last month.
According to Lotte Department Store, the pre-order supply of the PyeongChang trainers sold out a week after online bookings opened.
Store officials said 85,000 pairs had been pre-ordered as of Thursday afternoon.
Lotte Department Store’s PyeongChang Olympics-inspired fashion items have been a wild success based on their affordable prices and growing hype for the Winter Olympics, which will be held in South Korea in February.
“We plan to introduce various items that can contribute to the successful hosting of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics,” a Lotte Department Store official said.
