SEOUL, Feb. 17 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean retailers are ramping up mobile efforts as the popularity of mobile shopping continues to grow.
Shinsegae International Inc., the apparel arm of retail giant Shinsegae, opened seven special category sections, including its in-house daily necessity brand Jaju, on the mobile screen of its luxury shopping platform S.I. VILLAGE.
“About 85 percent of S.I. VILLAGE customers are making purchases through mobile. Our top priority currently is to improve the shopping convenience with a primary focus on mobile shopping,” the company said.
Hypermarket chain operator Homeplus Co. has also renovated its mobile app.
On the first page of the new mobile app, the company included a new function that recommends customized items on the basis of an analysis of each customer’s buying tendencies. It also strengthened product search functions.
Major online shopping mall Gmarket recently strengthened the notice function on the first page of its mobile application, aimed at allowing its customers to check the delivery status of the items they ordered and the answers to their questions in real time.
It also automatically recommends products that customers might be interested in on the basis of their previous purchase and search records.
