SEOUL, Jan. 24 (Korea Bizwire) — Lotte Department Store reported on Wednesday that it was making use of recyclable or biodegradable packaging for its Lunar New Year gift sets, which are going to be sold until February 4.
Lotte also used cooler bags, which can be reused as shopping bags, for its meat set packaging, and put dried yellow corvine in a paper box so that it can be recycled.

Ice packs for meat and dried yellow corvine were made of water to enable separate collection.
AK Plaza plans to collect ice packs from gift packaging in its food court from January 26 to February 2. When ice packs from gift sets are returned to the food court, the first 1,000 people will be given shopping baskets in return.
AK Plaza said that it is running a campaign to reduce gift packaging, and is considering many methods such as developing eco-friendly products as gifts or replacing plastic bags which are used in the food court with reusable bags.
