SEOUL, Feb. 26 (Korea Bizwire)South Korea and Australia hosted a joint forum on green businesses Wednesday in Seoul as part of efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation in clean energy and supply chains, Seoul’s industry ministry said.

The green economy partnership arrangement (EPA) business forum took place as a follow-up measure to the EPA signed by the two countries in December, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The EPA is designed to promote cooperation between the two countries in the development of climate, energy and supply chain technologies and to jointly respond to global carbon regulations.

In Wednesday’s forum, companies from the countries discussed ways to expand their cooperation in areas of clean energy and critical minerals, as well as carbon capture, utilization and storage.

“We expect the forum to create an opportunity for South Korea and Australia to make joint achievements in the global clean energy market by integrating Seoul’s clean energy technologies with Canberra’s competitiveness in natural resources,” Trade Minister Cheong In-kyo said.
