SEOUL, Nov. 5 (Korea Bizwire)Top South Korean and Chinese singers performed in a joint concert in Beijing Wednesday, drawing more than a thousand Chinese fans, the South Korean organizer said.

The annual pop concert, now in its 17th year, brought together 11 South Korean singers and groups as well as 11 Chinese performers at the Beijing Star Park, according to South Korea’s public broadcaster KBS, which co-hosts the show with Chinese broadcaster CCTV.

South Korea and China take turns hosting the event each year.

The South Korean artists, including Lim Chang-jung, Seo In-guk, Ailee and BTS, were joined by their Chinese colleagues SNH48, Tan Weiwei, Hanggai Band and Sha Baoliang, among others.

“Chinese fans filled the 1,200-seat hall and cheered and went wild regardless of the singer’s nationality whenever they sang,” KBS said. “They sang along to the songs of Korean idol groups and clapped loudly for Ali who sang in Chinese and Ailee who put on a great show despite her (foot) injury.”

A highlight of the annual event has been joint performances by South Korean and Chinese singers. This year, Lim Chang-jung and SNH48 sang two songs together.

The show is scheduled to be aired on KBS on Nov. 29.
