SEOUL, Jul. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s industry ministry said Tuesday it has held the fourth round of negotiations with the European Union for a digital agreement.
The talks were held in Seoul for a three-day run after the two sides announced the start of negotiations in October last year, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Around 30 government officials from both sides plan to share ideas on promoting online commerce, building a reliable system for the digital economy and giving more freedom to related businesses, it added.
“The agreement is expected to build grounds for bolstering ties with the EU, a major economic bloc, in the realm of digital commerce,” the ministry said in a statement.
“It will also help strengthen the competitiveness of South Korean businesses.”
