SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Korea Bizwire)South Korea and the European Union have begun the second round of talks on a bilateral digital trade agreement in an effort to seek broader partnership in the digital domain, Seoul’s industry ministry said Wednesday.

The negotiation kicked off in Seoul on Tuesday for a three-day run, following the initial round of talks in December last year, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

During the latest round of talks, the two sides will discuss details about online trade regulations and ways of cooperating on cyber security, the protection of personal information and data transfers, among other issues, it added.

In October last year, the two sides agreed to launch negotiations on a digital trade pact that “will provide legal certainty for businesses and consumers engaged in digital trade, enhance their protection in digital transactions, and foster an open, free and fair online environment,” their statement read.
