SEOUL, May 29 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s battery industry is aggressively recruiting talented employees to address the supply-demand gap.
LG Energy Solution Ltd. maintains a year-round talent pool for both new graduates and experienced professionals through its dedicated recruitment website.
The battery manufacturer is also actively seeking recruits on a global scale. Last month, the company organized a high-profile talent recruitment event in San Francisco.
Samsung SDI Co. issued a notice for the recruitment of experienced professionals last month. The company aims to hire employees across more than 50 areas of operation.
Apart from business departments like batteries and electronic materials, support departments such as quality, safety, environment, and management are actively seeking new employees.
Meanwhile, SK On Co. recently launched year-round recruitment for new graduates, offering 26 different positions in R&D, engineering, and management support.
This hiring spree comes six months after the company hired new graduates in late last year. The company plans to review another round of new graduate recruitment in the latter half of this year.
Each battery manufacturer is fostering and securing talented employees through collaborations with universities or research institutes and by establishing contractual departments.
With the increased demand for top talent, the total number of employees at the nation’s three major battery makers reached 25,996 at the end of 2022, marking an increase of 3,605 compared to the previous year.
