SEOUL, May 15 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean beaches are preparing to open as summer is just around the corner.
Beaches in Busan will be the first ones to open to the public. Haeundae Beach will be open from July 26 to August 11. It will be open until 9 p.m. to accommodate nighttime visitors.
Gwangalli, Dadaepo, Ilgwang, and Imrang beaches will be open from July 1 to August 31.
This year, relevant legislation has been amended to allow visitors to take a dip at the beach even when they are are not officially open.
Another 92 beaches along the east coast in Gangwon Province have yet to decide on an official opening date, but most are likely to open in July. There will be no early openings this year to avoid summer’s hottest period.
Gyeongpo Beach, Gangwon’s most representative tourist attraction, will open on July 5.
