SEOUL, Jan. 27 (Korea Bizwire) – South Korean companies swept this year’s innovation awards at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world’s largest tech expo.
The number of Korean products that won CES 2021 Innovation Awards this year totaled 101, accounting for 26.2 percent of the total award-winning products (386), according to the Korea International Trade Association.
The number of Korean products that won awards remained unchanged compared to a year ago, but their share increased by 4.4 percentage points from 21.8 percent a year ago as the total number of award-winning products fell to 386 from 464.
The Best of Innovation awards were given only to 27 products this year, of which seven were Korean products, compared to six a year ago.
Among the award-winning Korean products, 13 were in the health and wellbeing-related category, followed by six related to smart homes and five to sustainability.
The number of participating companies declined sharply to 1,961 this year from 4,400 last year since this year’s CES was held online.
