SEOUL, April 3 (Korea Bizwire)Concerns are growing among South Korean companies over the potential abuse of ChatGPT and the risk of confidential information leakage.

Samsung Electronics Co.’s Device eXperience (DX) division, which handles mobile devices and appliances, currently conducting a survey of its employees regarding the use of ChatGPT.

The survey includes questions about whether or not respondents have used ChatGPT before, as well as their thoughts on in-house ChatGPT use.

Based on the results of the survey, the company will create internal guidelines such as upload capacity limits and restrictions on the use of work PCs, which will be shared with employees in the future.

Samsung’s Device Solution (DS) division, which oversees its chip business, recently posted a message calling for caution about the abuse of ChatGPT on its bulletin board.

Each team leader has conducted training for team members on the scope of ChatGPT use.

SK hynix Inc. also blocked the use of ChatGPT on its internal network, although it is partially allowed after going through a separate security review in cases when the use of ChatGPT is necessary.

Meanwhile, South Korean steelmaker POSCO hahs developed a channel that allows its employees to use ChatGPT internally, rather than through OpenAI’s platform, to mitigate the risk of information leakage.
