SEOUL, April 5 (Korea Bizwire)The foreign ministry started a special envoy tasked with finding and sharing ‘good stories’ about the two countries as Seoul and Beijing facing deteriorating public relations towards one another.

The South Korean embassy in Beijing on Tuesday organized a special envoy comprised of 10 South Korean nationals with outstanding social media skills who live in either South Korea or China.

The envoy’s launch ceremony will take place on April 13.

The envoy will be tasked with collecting “good stories” from the processes of engagement between governments, businesses, and people from the two countries, and posting them on their social media accounts as well as the South Korean embassy’s social media account.

The embassy also selected 27 Chinese influencers who are each followed by more than 10,000 people. They will participate in various activities hosted by the embassy or the Korean Cultural Center to promote Seoul-Beijing relations.

The embassy is folling out the “good story” campaign in response to the recent deterioration of public perception between the Korean and Chinese public.

“There is an excessive amount of online content uploaded by Koreans and Chinese aimed to offend each other, which undermines the public perception between the two countries,” the South Korean embassy in Beijing said.
