S. Korean Musicians Pay Tribute to the Late Ryuichi Sakamoto

SEOUL, April 4 (Korea Bizwire)The South Korean music industry is paying tribute to prominent Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, who recently passed away.

Rock musician and radio show host Bae Chul-soo posted a photo of himself together with the late composer on social media.

Taeyong from K-pop boy group NCT posted a picture of a streaming platform playing Sakamoto’s “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence” and wrote “rest in peace, my inspiration and shelter.”

Singer-songwriter Jung Jae-hyung left a comment on a social media post that Sakamoto was “his light”, and wished that he would “be in peace”.

BTS member Suga also posted a message wishing for Sakamoto’s “peaceful journey beyond.”
