SEOUL, Jan. 15 (Korea Bizwire)The Supreme Court announced on Monday that it will now reveal the names of lawyers and the law firms for each ruling posted on the Supreme Court website.

The Supreme Court has been allowing visitors to search for criminal rulings on the website as well as other rulings from all South Korean courts since January 1. The measure aims to ensure transparency and fairness of each ruling by preventing any partial benefits to certain lawyers or law firms.

Starting on January 14, the Supreme Court will reveal the names of judges, prosecutors, lawyers, patent attorneys, law firms, and license corporations that have participated in each ruling.

However, names and addresses of other corporate bodies indirectly affiliated with a case will not be provided to the public due to privacy.

“We will continue to develop measures to ensure transparency, fairness, and responsibility of each ruling, while effectively protecting the privacy of related parties,” said a source from the Supreme Court.
