SEOUL, April 3 (Korea Bizwire) — Seoul Forest, Dosan Park and Ttukseom Han River Park were selected by South Koreans in their 20s and 30s as the most popular locations for enjoying cherry blossoms, the wireless carrier said.
SK Telecom Co. analyzed the mobile data of people visiting tourist hotspots in Seoul during last year’s cherry blossom season (April 9-17), which showed that 26,000 people in their 20s and 30s visited Seoul Forest.
The visitors preferred Seoul Forest over other locations by a factor of 1.85.
Some 110,000 people visited Dosan Park, with a preference rate of 1.78. Ttukseom Park was visited by 81,000 people, with a preference rate of 1.72, while Naksan Park was visited by 19,000 people, with a preference rate of 1.53.
South Koreans in their 20s and 30s preferred locations with nearby cafes, indicating that the popularity of these cherry blossom hotspots is closely related to meeting friends and acquaintances.
Seokchon Lake was visited by the most number of people (598,000), followed by Yunjungno street in Yeouido (238,000 people), Dosan Park (110,000 people) and Ttukseom Park (81,000 people).
