SEJONG, Feb. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries announced that the nation’s first marine healing center will be completed at Wando County in South Jeolla Province by the end of this year
Marine healing refers to activities related to healing both the body and mind using marine resources such as mudflats, salty underground water and marine life.
The Wando Marine Healing Center will be a two-story building with one basement floor. It will be located at Sinji Myeongsasimni Beach, with a floor space of 7,596 square meters.
The center will be designed to operate a comprehensive range of marine healing programs, including those specializing in sports rehabilitation and the alleviation of metabolic syndrome.
The center will be equipped with a variety of healing spaces, including a seawater pool for underwater workouts, a healing room for the alleviation of stress and the management of musculoskeletal disorders, and a yoga and meditation space.
In addition, Nordic walking and pilates exercises will be held on the beach in front of the center.
