SEOUL, Nov. 30 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s top electronics makers, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics, have been named among the most desirable employers in the United States, according to a new ranking by Forbes, underscoring the companies’ strong reputation in one of the world’s most competitive labor markets.
Forbes, working with market research firm Statista, surveyed 140,000 employees at U.S. workplaces with more than 1,000 staff, as well as 10,000 university students, to compile its list of 500 “America’s Dream Employers.” Respondents evaluated companies on pay, career development, workplace culture, professional growth opportunities and benefits.
Nvidia, the fast-rising AI chipmaker, claimed the top spot. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Microsoft, Google and Universal Music Group rounded out the top five.
Only two Korean companies appeared on the list, both landing in the top 100: Samsung Electronics ranked 44th, while LG Electronics placed 89th.
The recognition follows last year’s Forbes ranking of “Best Employers for Engineers,” in which Samsung and LG also performed strongly, placing 71st and 64th respectively.
Industry officials say the results reflect not only the companies’ growing U.S. footprint but also their rising appeal to American workers amid intensifying competition for engineering and tech talent.
