SEOUL, Dec. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics said it will unveil a new generation of AI-powered kitchen appliances at CES 2026, introducing what it calls the world’s first home appliance equipped with Google’s latest artificial intelligence model, Gemini.
Ahead of the world’s largest consumer electronics show, which opens Jan. 6 in Las Vegas, Samsung Electronics announced it will showcase a new Bespoke AI refrigerator at its “First Look” event. The model integrates Gemini, developed by Google, into Samsung’s AI Vision system, significantly enhancing the appliance’s ability to recognize and manage food items.
Using an internal camera, the upgraded AI Vision can identify a far broader range of ingredients than previous models, which were limited to recognizing 37 types of fresh foods and about 50 packaged items. By pairing Gemini with its image-recognition technology, Samsung said the refrigerator can now deliver more accurate food tracking, management and recommendations.
The company is also introducing an expanded “AI Food Manager,” designed to connect ingredient recognition with meal planning, recipe suggestions and grocery shopping, offering what Samsung described as a more personalized and integrated food experience.
Samsung plans to extend the upgraded AI Vision technology to its wine refrigerators as well. A new SmartThings-based “AI Wine Manager” will automatically identify wine bottles using an internal camera, recording details such as label, grape variety and vintage. The system will track storage locations and update inventories in real time when bottles are moved or removed.
The AI Vision features will be rolled out across several premium models scheduled for release next year, including the Bespoke AI Family Hub, Bespoke AI Hybrid and the Infinite AI Wine Refrigerator lineup.
“Samsung has led innovation in kitchen appliances through AI Vision technology,” said Moon Jong-seung, a vice president in Samsung’s digital appliances division. “Through our collaboration with Google, we are taking that experience to the next level and delivering a food ecosystem that is uniquely Samsung’s.”
Samsung will present the new lineup during CES 2026, the annual technology showcase hosted by the Consumer Technology Association, where AI-driven home appliances are expected to be a major theme.
